Argentina are long standing members
of the World Rugby Sevens Series, flying the flag for South America on the
global circuit. Los Pumas enjoyed a golden spell just after the turn of
the century, becoming regulars in the top six of the overall standings and
winning the USA Sevens tournament in 2004 and 2009.

Australia are one of the most
consistent nations competing on the World Rugby Sevens Series circuit. The
Aussies may have last finished on the podium in 2010 thanks to a third-placed
finish but they haven’t finished below eighth in the overall standings since.

Canada have emerged as dangerous
opponents on the World Rugby Sevens Series circuit in recent years. Capable
of packing a punch and springing a surprise or two, the Canadians pulled off a
famous success when they won gold at the 2017 Singapore leg, before adding a third-place
finish in London on their way to eighth in the overall standings.

England have marked themselves out
at consistent performers at the sharp end of the World Rugby Sevens Series,
having won the inaugural event in 1993. A bundle of second and third-placed
finishes have followed in the years on the circuit since, with the Red Rose
reaching second in the standings at the end of the 2016/17 campaign.

Fiji are a dominant force on the
World Rugby Sevens Series, lighting up the annual circuit with a freewheeling,
eye-catching style to charm the coldest of rugby hearts. Their rise to
glory under English coach Ben Ryan even culminated in a gold medal performance
at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.

France are a nation that has often
flattered to deceive on the World Rugby Sevens Series circuit. Les Bleus
did rise to seal silver medals at the Vancouver and Hong Kong legs in 2019,
though, rescuing what was threatening to become a miserable campaign.

Ireland are the new kids on the
World Rugby Sevens Series block, having sealed core member status on the
circuit for the 2019/20 season.The Irish saw off hosts Hong Kong to win
the World Series Qualifier in 2019 to take their place in the big time.

Unpredictable Kenya are a core
member of the World Rugby Sevens Series. Capable of upsetting the very
best on their day, the African nation have suffered from injuries and an
unfeasibly high player turnover throughout the years.

It’s no surprise that the rugby
hotbed of New Zealand has a World Rugby Sevens Series team to be proud of.
While their stranglehold on top spot has lessened since their dominance after
the turn of the century, the All Blacks Sevens are seldom off the podium.

Samoa are a core member of the
World Rugby Sevens Series – and one looking to continue an upward curve that
defied the critics in 2019.The Pacific Islanders surged their way to
sixth place on the overall standings ahead of the likes of Australia, France
and Argentina, with a runners-up finish in Las Vegas putting the silver hat on
an impressively consistent campaign

Scotland are a core nation on the World Rugby Sevens Series
circuit and mid-table regulars in the overall standings. They were looking
strong for a push into the upper reaches of the table when they famously beat
hosts England on the way to winning gold at Twickenham Stadium in 2017.

South Africa have proved themselves
in recent seasons as the only nation capable of regularly challenging Fiji at
the top of the World Rugby Sevens Series. The Blitzboks topped the pile
in the overall standings in 2016 and 2017 before securing qualification for the
Tokyo Olympic Games in 2020 with a fourth-place finish in 2019.

Spain are a core nation finding
their feet on the World Rugby Sevens Series circuit, with the 2019/20 season
their third campaign back in the big time. The Europeans have yet to
make a major splash since rejoining the big time in 2017, having been relegated

The United States of America came within
a whisker of glory on the World Rugby Sevens Series in 2019, as they were
pipped to the overall title by mighty Fiji in the final leg. Led by
English coach Mike Friday, the States have become a force to be reckoned with
on the circuit in recent years, having not finished outside the top six since

Wales are a core nation on the
World Rugby Sevens Series circuit, most recently found flirting with relegation
from the global circuit. A focus on promising young academy players from
the Welsh rugby union system has left the British country loitering in 14th
spot in 2018 and 2019, just one place clear of oblivion.
