The Springboks will kick off their campaign in the 2019 edition of the Rugby Championship by welcoming the Wallabies to Ellis Park, before making stops in Wellington and Buenos Aires.

Sanzaar confirmed the fixture list of the shortened season, which will stretch over only three weeks due to the Rugby World Cup set to be held later in the year.

This means that for the 2019 competition the organisers have ditched the usual format which saw each team face each of the three competitors at home and away and, in the case of South Africa, the opening match against the men from Down Under will be the only one held inside these shores.

The action kicks off on Saturday, 20 July with the Boks taking on the Wallabies, before heading to Buenos Aires in the early hours of the following day (SAST), where the defending champions, the All Blacks visit Argentina.

South Africa’s next stop is the scene of 2018’s historic win against the world champions, as the two rivals square off at Westpac Stadium once more, while Australia host their first home fixture of the season as they welcome Argentina to Brisbane.

After a week off, the Rugby Championship then resumes on 10 August with a Bledisloe Cup tie between Australia and New Zealand in Perth, as South Africa visit Argentina in Perth.
