Mamelodi Sundowns are reportedly mulling bringing in highly rated Golden Arrows defender Nkosinathi Sibisi in to reinforce their last line of defence.
Sundowns appear to be concerned about their aging last line of defence, having just released Wayne Arendse while Rivaldo Coetzee’s contract expires at the end of the current season.
PSL transfer news: Golden Arrows could be victims of their own success
It has already been made clear that Masandawana are eager to beef up their fortifications with the signing of Maritzburg United defender Rushine De Reuck signalling their intent to rejuvenate the options available to their coaches.
Sibisi has been in excellent form for a Golden Arrows side who have punched above their weight this season and a source from within the Sundowns organisation has confirmed the club an interest in the 25-year-old Durbanite.
“The deal could happen now or in the next transfer window period,” an anonymous source told KickOff.com.
“Golden Arrows are doing well at the moment and the chairlady [Mato Madlala] might not want to destabilise the team this season.”
If coach Mandla Ncikazi continues to achieve success with Abafana Bes’thende, the Durban club will likely need to fight to keep hold of its best players.
Golden Arrows’ Zimbabwean fullback Divine Lunga is also believed to be on Mamelodi Sundowns radar.
Lunga and Sibisi have been immense for Arrows with the latter soldiering through injury to help his side force a draw against Orlando Pirates. The defensive pair are now estimated to be Arrows joint-second most valuable players behind striker Knox Mutiwa.
Veteran midfielder Gladwin Shitolo has attracted interest form the bigger clubs before in the past and it wouldn’t be a huge surprise to see him handed a short-term deal at a team with ambitions of chasing the title.
Another player to watch in the Golden Arrows ranks is winger Nduduzo Sibiya who has bagged four goals and two assists in his seven league appearances this term.
