Black Leopards goal-scoring machine Mwape Musonda will more than likely show up in different colours next season, that is if the words of club chairman David Thidiela are anything to go by.

After guiding Lidoda Duvha to the top flight, the Zambian international continued his red hot form as he finished his first season back in the PSL as the league’s top goal-scorer with 16 goals.

This was after lacklustre showings in the colours of Orlando Pirates and Lamontville Golden Arrows before he was offloaded to the Limpopo-based outfit in 2016.

With several clubs clamouring for his signature, Leopards are not looking to stand in his way, and are instead prepared to cash in.

In an interview with Isolezwe, Thidiela indicated that the Zambian international’s future could be elsewhere.

“We want to sell Musonda because he has done a good job for us. We want him to join a club that plays in a top league. What more do we need for him?” he is quoted as saying by the publication.

“This guy has scored goals for us in the National First Division (NFD). We returned to the PSL and he continued to score goals and won the top goal scorer award.”

Thidiela added that there have been talks between Musonda’s representatives and a few suitors.

The player has been heavily linked with Kaizer Chiefs, who have recently signed his compatriot Lazarous Kambole. However, according to Thidiela, the club has not made contact with the player.

“Some of the clubs are based overseas and have shown an interest and determination. However, everything regarding his future will be decided in the next few weeks.”
