Another round of PSL fixtures is upon us and the action is set to intensity with just a month to go before the end of the 2018/19 season.
Orlando Pirates lead the pack, having collected another three points by beating Black Leopards on Wednesday and have a chance to pull further away this coming weekend.
They will be aided by the fact that defending champions, and closest title contenders, Mamelodi Sundowns are in Egypt for the second leg of their Caf Champions League tie against Al Ahly, and their absence from league action gives at least one of the chasing pack a chance to move to second on the table.
The abovementioned outfit is Bidvest Wits, who are first in action on Friday as they travel all the way to Port Elizabeth to face Chippa United, who will be on a high having registered a rare victory last time out.
Saturday kicks off with two afternoon fixtures, as Highlands Park return to action, after a prolonged rest, with a clash against Maritzburg United, while Kaizer Chiefs take on Black Leopards at Thohoyandou Stadium.
There’s also two late starts, with Pirates squaring up against the struggling Free State Stars at Orlando Stadium, just as the battle between fifth and sixth takes place between Supersport United and Polokwane City in Atteridgeville.
The weekend’s action concludes on Sunday, as Cape Town City look to bounce back away to Bloemfontein Celtic, while Lamontville Golden Arrows host AmaZulu in a KwaZulu-Natal derby.
