Manchester City returned to the top of the Premier League thanks to an easy win over relegation-threatened Cardiff at the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday.
Kevin de Bruyne scored the opener as Pep Guardiola’s reigning champions went back above Liverpool at the EPL summit.
Leroy Sane volleyed in the second to leave the visitors dead and buried and the hosts sitting pretty.
Tottenham 2-0 Crystal Palace
Tottenham enjoyed a happy homecoming at their new stadium as they comfortably saw off Crystal Palace.
Son Heung-min had the honour of scoring the first competitive goal in Spurs’ new surrounds against their London rivals in the 55th minute.
The hosts ensured they would stay third in the Premier League table when Christian Eriksen scored the second from close range.
Chelsea 3-0 Brighton
Chelsea are fifth in the Premier League table after a handsome victory at home to ailing Brighton.
Olivier Giroud scored a rare goal to open the scoring at Stamford Bridge.
The Blues had a second when Eden Hazard curled in a beauty on the hour mark before Ruben Loftus-Cheek completed the rout three minutes later.

Wolves 2-1 Manchester United
Manchester United gave away a one-goal lead to lose at Wolves on Tuesday, dealing a blow to their Premier League top four hopes.
Scott McTominay netted his first United goal to put the visitors into a 13th-minute lead at Molineux.
But the hosts pulled level on 25 minutes when Raul Jimenez teed up Diogo Jota.
And Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men were further hobbled early in the second half when Ashley Young picked up a par of quickfire yellow cards for fouls on Jota.
Wolves completed their turnaround in the 77th minute when Chris Smalling deflected into his own net to scupper United’s hopes of going third in the EPL table.
Watford 4-1 Fulham
Fulham collapsed to defeat at Watford on Tuesday, sealing an instant return to the Championship next season.
An Abdoulaye Doucoure special fired the Hornets ahead before Ryan Babel ensured the visitors went into the half time break on level terms.
That held true until the 63rd minute when Will Hughes restored the hosts’ advantage.
Talismanic Troy Deeney and Kiko Femenia added the gloss to keep Javi Gracia’s side trundling along in mid-table and Fulham staring at the abyss.
