Makusu isn’t ready yet – Zinnbauer

Orlando Pirates head coach Josef Zinnbauer explained the reason behind Jean-Marc Mundele Makusu’s limited game-time last month.

“Jean-Marc is a not a long time here, he’s working on conditioning, on the system and you see today it’s not easy for him to come in.” Orlando Pirates head coach Josef Zinnbauer said in January.

“But he gets more time, yes, but we have to improve him and for us it’s important that we give him minutes and today was the first step.

“I don’t know what’s the next game, we have to see what’s happening with the other players, maybe one of the strikers from the opposition comes back and we can play with two strikers – this happened in the past also.”

Orlando Pirates next turn their attention to their return CAF Confederations Cup clash against Jwaneng Galaxy on Sunday evening at the Orlando Stadium.

Jean-Marc Mundele Makusu will undoubtedly be hoping his superb cameo performance earns him a start on Sunday.
