Cape Town will get to experience Formula One in its own backyard in June and one of the men behind the wheel will be none other than a legend of the sport, David Coulthard.
The Scot will be part of the 2019 Red Bull Cape Town Circuit that will be taking place on 2 June 2019, after similar stops in cities like Hanoi, Tokyo and Mexico City.
This gives thousands of South African F1 fans a chance to see the 48-year-old up close as he blitzes the Red Bull through a specially-crafted street circuit.
Coulthard, who returns to SA shores, said he was delighted to be bring the sport back to the country.
“I’m super excited to be in Cape Town in June for the Red Bull Circuit event. I’ll be driving the F1 car, demonstrating the power, energy and excitement of what Grand Prix racing can bring. I haven’t been to South Africa since we were in Kyalami in 2011, so I’m delighted we’re bringing Formula One back to Cape Town. See you there, looking forward to it.”
