Manchester City welcome English rivals Tottenham Hotspur to the Etihad for what promises to be an intriguing Champions League Quarterfinal second leg.
Spurs suffered a massive blow to their ambitions this term in the first leg when Harry Kane hobbled off with a season-ending injury.
Eric Dier, Erik Lamela and Serge Aurier have all been ruled out while Spurs are taking a wait-and-see approach with Harry Winks and Delle Alli. Victor Wanyama, who has played just eight times this season, is expected to start after he ended a 14-month goal drought in the 4-0 win over Huddersfield in the Premier League.
For Manchester City Fernandinho is understood to be nearing a return from an undisclosed muscle issue but neither he notr fullback Oleksandr Zinchenko are expected to start at the Etihad on Wednesday night.
In City’s midfield Ilkay Gündogan should line up alongside Kevin de Bruyne and David Silva adding grit to the flair of the superstars.
Sergio Aguero will lead the City line again with the in-form Raheem Sterling and Bernardo Silva for company.
Christian Eriksen, Lucas Moura and Son Heung-min should make up Tottenham’s creative force going forward while in the absence of Kane,
Fernando Llorente gets another opportunity to show that he is better than his time in London has suggested.
Toby Alderweireld, Lamela and Son would miss the next match if booked. Lamela has already been ruled out with a hamstring injury though.
Aguero risks missing the first leg of the semi-final if he picks up a yellow as does Nicholas Otamendi but with John Stones and Aymeric Laporte fit to play the defender does not look likely to play.
