For the first time in seven years, Kaizer Chiefs return to Thohoyandou Stadium for a clash against the struggling Black Leopards on Saturday, as they look to salvage whatever remains of their chances at league glory.
The Glamour Boys are in unfamiliar territory at midtable with just five matches remaining in their league campaign and will look to bounce back having suffered defeat in their last outing – losing 1-0 at home to Baroka.
Their opponents are in a more desperate situation as they occupy 12th position after failing to pick up a point in their last two matches – most recently against Orlando Pirates, where they gave a listless performance in a 2-0 defeat on Wednesday.
The team’s showing at Orlando Stadium left coach Dylan Kerr fuming, but the Englishman admitted he would not go off at his players, as they have another Soweto giant to deal with in the space of three days.
“I’m really angry. I’ve been nice to these guys but I can’t give it took them too much because we have a big game coming up at Thohoyandou Stadium against Kaizer Chiefs. This one is put to bed,” he said after the match.

The mood in the opposing camp is not all to different, with Chiefs coach Ernst Middendorp also not too happy with his charges, following their showing against Baroka.
The German mentor indicated that he would ring the changes against Lidoda Duvha.
“It was totally disappointing and not adequate, but we have to look forward to the next game and put some other players in, we’ll see. It should not happen that we are using the same players and we can’t handle it.”

Chiefs will be boosted by the return of Khama Billiat, who sat out the match at FNB Stadium, but will be without his countryman Teenage Hadebe after the defender picked up a concussion in the same game.
