Paços de Ferreira loanee Luther Singh says that hearing that big clubs are interested in his services gives him confidence.
Singh currently plies his trade in Portugal’s Primeira Liga being deployed as a winger or wide midfielder while on loan with the Pacenses.
The club are currently enjoying a good season, sitting fifth in the league five points off the last Portuguese berth in continental competition currently occupied by Singh’s parent club Braga.
Luther Singh linked to Anderlecht
Singh has been linked to Anderlecht as a replacement for Percy Tau who was recalled from his loan to the Belgian club to join up with his parent club Brighton and Hove Albion for the first time since he signed for them in 2018.
“Hearing these type of things gives me confidence, but I don’t let it get to my head, where I can feel like I’ve arrived. I take the interest in me as a compliment, but I still stay humble and I keep my feet on the ground as well,” Singh told Soccer Laduma.
“I feel like it’s always good as a player, when you hear things like that but, but it gives you the motivation to do more. Like if you have given this, then you can just get better if you continue working hard and getting better with every game and every training session.
“For me when I heard that there is so much interest in me, it gave me confidence to tell myself that I can achieve more than I thought I can and I shouldn’t limit myself and I can go over the point I thought I could reach,” Singh added.
Singh is enjoying regular football with Pacos and will hope that his extended run in the side will bolster his hopes of making the Under-23 squad for the Tokyo Olympics.
There has also been a suggestion that Gavin Hunt might want to lure Singh back to South Africa to reinforce Kaizer Chiefs’ striking options.
Singh has spent his entire senior career playing in Europe having made his club debut for GAIS in Sweden before being recruited by Braga in 2017, at first turning out for their B squad before loan spells at Chaves, Moreirense and the latest one at Pacos.
He has previously attracted attention from the likes of Real Madrid B and Swansea City.
