Bafana Bafana coach Stuart Baxter has named two separate XIs that will do duty against Ghana on Saturday afternoon.

South Africa are in Dubai for preparations for the Afcon 2019 tournament in Egypt, and have two friendlies scheduled ahead of the big competition.

One of those is against the Black Stars, who have hoisted the big prize four times.

Baxter will see at least 22 players out of his 23-man squad run on on Saturday, in the unofficial match which precedes an other friendly closer to Bafana’s opening game at Afcon.

The first XI named by the Brit reads like the first team, with squad captain Thulani Hlatshwayo alongside regular centre-back partner Buhle Mkhwanazi in front of Bidvest Wits teammate and goalkeeper Darren Keet between the posts, while star strikers Percy Tau and Lebo Mothiba lead the charge.

The midfield is occupied by Supersport United skipper Dean Furman as well as Brentford midfielder Kamohelo Mokotjo, flanked by ex-Ajax Cape Town midfielder Thulani Serero, with PSL Player of the Season Thembinkosi Lorch getting a rare start in national colours.

The second XI has more of an experimental team feel to it, with Ronwen Williams assuming goal keeper duties, while Sundowns captain Hlompho Kekana has been penned in in a more defensive role alongside Kaizer Chiefs defender Daniel Cardoso.

The midfield is shored up by Tiyani Mabunda alongside ex-Downs teammate Bongani Zungu, while Lars Veldwijk, Themba Zwane and Lebohang Maboe are expected to add attacking impetus.
