Things are tense in southside Los Angeles. Ermias Davidson Asghedon, otherwise known popularly as Nipsey Hussle, was gunned down outside the Marathon Clothing Company on Crenshaw and Slauson Avenue on Sunday afternoon.
As reported by ABC 7’s Eyewitness News, investigators have since made progress in the murder case. According to the coroner’s report, the US rapper died from fatal gunshot wounds to the head and torso.
Who killed Nipsey Hussle?
The suspect that has been linked to this vicious murder has been identified as Eric Holder, a 29-year-old black male that was last seen driving a white, four-door, Chevrolet Cruze.
Scores of people gathered at the 3400 block of Slauson Avenue in Hyde Park, where Nipsey’s body was found, on Monday evening for a night vigil.
The blue candles and balloons were an ode to his Rollin 60s Crips gang and things seemed cordial until a stampede broke out. There have been conflicting reports about what sent the hundreds of people into a panic.
Night vigil turns into absolute chaos
Reports of gunfire at the memorial were soon denied, but it is believed that six people were stabbed in the midst of the whole occasion and a loud bang sent the crowd into pandemonium.
News crews in helicopters and on the ground captured footage of the stampede.
No suspects have been identified in the suspected stabbings but riot police managed to disperse the crowds and blockade the area. It is believed that the vigil will continue on Tuesday night but that, this time, there will be a heavy police presence.
