With South Africans taking to the polls in the 2019 elections today, the top search result on Google is “South African Elections 2019” with more than 200 000 entries, and the EFF more than 5 000 searches.
In addition, voters are asking Google about “voting stations near me,” with the term exceeding 10 000 searches.
While the EFF is the most searched political party, Maimane still remains the most searched political leader so far.

Election Google Doodle
Google is thinking about us on Election Day, guys. Google marked the historic event by a updating their doodle to depict South Africa’s national elections.
