The Comrades Marathon celebrates its 94th anniversary this coming weekend – if you’re a supporter or a commuter, it’s important to take note of the following road closures.

The Comrades Marathon, which was established almost a
century ago, is the world’s largest and oldest ultramarathon race. The
spectacular event, which draws entrants from across the globe to KwaZulu-Natal
on 9 June, is regarded as one of the most gruelling tests of human endurance.

With a scenic route that stretches 87 kilometres between
Durban and Pietermaritzburg, the Comrades Marathon is as equally challenging as
it is scenic. This year, the race taking place will be an ‘Up Run’ – starting in
Durban.
