Speaking to Entertainment Tonight’s Kevin Frazier at CinemaCon in Las Vegas on Thursday, the award-winning actress said “somebody just needs to grow a pair and step up.” She joked:
“I’ve been single for ten years; it’s not a long shot. I’m shockingly available. I’ve made it very clear.”
The ten years comment is probably a bit of an exaggeration. Theron broke up with Sean Penn in 2015, after a two-year relationship.
She started dating Sean Penn in December 2013 and announced her engagement to him the following year. However, the couple parted on mutual terms when they realised “it didn’t work anymore.”
Before that, she dated Stuart Townsend from 2002 until 2010. Theron met Townsend on the set of Trapped, and the couple had homes in Los Angeles and Ireland.
Long Shot with Seth Rogen
In her recent film Long Shot, Theron portrays the role Secretary of State of the United States Charlotte Field, also single, who is running for president.
Seth Rogen was cast as Fred Flarsky, an unemployed journalist who falls for Field, the most powerful and unattainable women on Earth. Rogen said he looked forward to promoting the movie with her:
“I was highly aware I was going to be standing next to Charlize for a lot of pictures. I always have that image in my head of us like Beyonce next to Ed Sheeran in a T-shirt, and I was like, ‘I don’t want that.’”
Charlize Theron’s upcoming films
Long Shot hits international theatres on 3 May. Fans of Theron can look forward to her upcoming film appearances. She was also cast as Megyn Kelly in a yet untitled Roger Ailes project.
The film is currently in post-production and set for release later this year. In addition, she also landed a part in The Old Guard and Atomic Blonde 2.
Filming of Atomic Blonde 2 has not officially kicked off yet, and The Old Guard is still in pre-production. Theron also lent her voice to the role of Morticia Adams in a remake of The Addams Family.
That too is in post-production with a release date scheduled for later this year.
