Popular television personality Katlego Maboe found himself at the centre of a Twitter storm on Thursday, 22 October 2020, after a clip of him admitting to having an affair, went viral.
In the video, a woman believed to be Maboe’s partner, Monique Muller, confronts him about being unfaithful to her – and threatens to leave with their son if he doesn’t tell the truth. She also revealed a bombshell – that he had infected her with a life-changing sexually transmitted disease (STD), which could ruin her chances of having more children.

Maboe hosts morning lifestyle show on Expresso on SABC 3 and is also the face of one of the biggest insurance companies in the country.
A social media user believed to be Muller’s brother, claimed Maboe had even cheated on her several other times, including when she was pregnant.
“…Fun fact, he prolly [sic] wouldn’t want the public to know either, he gave my sister an STD which activated cancer cells and she might not be able to have children again, he also cheated on her while she was pregnant with his son and multiple other times,” he said on Instagram.
He also accused Maboe of physically assaulting his partner. The 33-year-old presenter has addressed the allegations, admitting to infidelity.
“I was unfaithful to my partner during a very important time of our lives – an act I regret to this day. We are currently undergoing an unfortunate and painful separation which is being resolved through legal proceedings,” he said.
Maboe however denied claims that he’s abused Muller.
“In light of the comments made against me, I would like to state that I have never abused my partner,” he said.
“I have always and will always stand up against the abuse of women and children – in fact, the abuse of anyone for that matter”
