While some of our favourite Game of Thrones characters were celebrating their victory over the army of the dead on the most recent episode of Game of Thrones, fans spotted a Starbucks coffee sitting on the table in front of Daenerys Targaryen.
Fans pointed out the cup on Twitter, saying they don’t know if it’s actually a mistake or a deliberate tongue-in-the-cheek insertion.
The Verge reports that Game of Thrones producers previously shocked their audience in season 3 when the “Walk of Punishment” episode concluded with an entirely out-of-context rock song. So it might be a deliberate mistake to get people to talk about the episode.
But, of course, the Twitterverse were the first to joke about the situation:

Other believe it is a test for fans of the show to see if they can actually spot it – after fans complained that last week’s episode was too dark:
1. After last week's #GameOfThrones, the cinematographer had to fight off criticism that it was too dark and people couldn't see.
2. So this week he inserts an offending Starbucks cup into dark scene.
3. People spot the cup, cinematographer vindicated.https://t.co/V2Xx05BatT

The ‘Starbucks moment’ arrives at the 17:40 mark of the episode.

Others are trying to guess what is in the actual cup. Is it just coffee? A pumpkin spice latte? A vanilla latte?

Others feel like it’s from Winterfell’s own coffee chain:
