We’re riding out the last bit of the cold front this week, hopefully. If it’s too cold to go out, M-Net’s Sunday Movie Magic as your back with this week’s movie.

The Spy Who Dumped Me is a 2018 American action spy spoof comedy film. It was written by Susanna Fogel and David Iserson and stars Mila Kunis, Kate McKinnon and Justin Theroux in the main roles.

The Spy Who Dumped Me Plot

The Spy Who Dumped Me tells the story of Audrey, portrayed by Kunis, and Morgan (McKinnon), two best friends who unwittingly become entangled in an international conspiracy.

One of the women discovers that the boyfriend who dumped her was actually a CIA agent.

Critics’ reviews

The critics wouldn’t be the critics if they didn’t dislike practically anything they watch, and The Spy Who Dumped Me is no exception. Ed Potto from The Times said:

The problem is that the script, by Fogel and David Iserson […] offers zilch in the way of laughs.

Oliver Jones from Observer praised Kate McKinnon for her portrayal, while Peter Bradshaw from Guardian said they “could get more laughs by doing some extended on-camera improvisation.”
