Our action fix this weekend comes in the form Skyscraper, starring none other than Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson.
Unfortunately, we were also slapped with Stage 4 load shedding on this here lovely Saturday morning. Now according to Eskom, it may or may not impact “the prognosis for Sunday and next week.” Don’t shoot the messenger, please.
If you are able to watch it on M-Net Channel 101 this Sunday at 20:00, then you will be in for a treat. Fingers crossed!
Best quote from Skyscraper:
If you can’t fix it with duct tape… you ain’t using enough duct tape.

As expected, the critics of the world didn’t find this film all too enjoyable. But hey, would they be “film critics” if they didn’t hate everything Hollywood produced?
This action movie has about four gripping sequences of heart-pounding suspense, but they’re surrounded by too much ridiculous, ineffective stuff; stressful scenes of kids in peril tip the balance.
Hey look, when I’m in the mood for a good ol’ fashioned skop-skiet-en-donner movie, I’m not expecting any Oscar performances or life-altering mind-f*** experience to change my view of the world.
I quite enjoyed it, maybe I’m just biased because I’m a fan of Mr Johnson. If action is what you want, then Skyscraper will deliver. And it stars Neve Campbell. I like her too.
