This recipe is a family favourite for so many across South Africa because it is so easy to make yet tastes incredible.

This dish is basically a chicken casserole slow baked in the oven with a barbecue style sauce. This chicken forms its own sticky-yet-sweet sauce as it cooks and retains its juiciness.

You can serve the casserole with any sides of your choice, the usual rice and vegetables of your choice go particularly well.

To make a real feast, serve the chicken with this sweetcorn bread for a true Southern-style feast.
