A new photo of Prince Harry has sparked calls for the royal to “buy some shoes and put them away” after he bared his dirty feet in a photo announcing baby number two with his wife Meghan Markle on Valentine’s Day.
A special baby announcement
“We can confirm that Archie is going to be a big brother. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are overjoyed to be expecting their second child,” the spokesperson said in a statement according to HuffPost.
This will be the second child for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who welcomed their son, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor, in May 2019. Archie is currently seventh in line to the throne, but does not have a title.
The couple announced the news with a new photo by potographer Misan Harriman, a longtime friend of the royal couple.
Harriman tweeted out the photo, saying: “Meg, I was there at your wedding to witness this love story begin, and my friend, I am honoured to capture it grow,” the Vogue contributing photographer wrote. “Congratulations to The Duke and Duchess of Sussex on this joyous news!”
Foot frenzy: Twitter reacts to Prince Harry’s bare feet
But, now The Daily Mail reports that for many fans the sight of the prince’s bare feet proved too much.
Twitter user @KellyannBabes wrote: “Congratulations Harry and Meghan.. but serious is there any need for Harry’s bare feet.”
@Matriarch4 added: “Someone needs to buy Harry shoes. Ewwww, feet.”
Meanwhile, others said it is a sign of disrespect.
Twitter user @MirandaUganda said: “In many countries it is deeply offensive to show the soles of your feet.”
Some said ‘everything else is perfect’ – bar Harry’s bare feet.
@thedyingswann said: “My only complaint about that picture is that Harry’s barefoot – I hate seeing feet with burning passion. Everything else is perfect!”
Others mean feet are simply “not hot”.
Others in the online community were less critical of the photo and are seemingly very happy for the couple:
Others felt that people should “just let him be”.
