Angry Birds 2: Plot and Cast

According to Hollywood Reporter, the 3D animated film picks up after the 2016 original. In the sequel, the birds and pigs embark on a new adventure and battle against the isolated Zeta (Leslie Jones) after she fires an ice ball at their island.

When the new threat emerges that puts both Bird and Pig Island in danger, Red (Jason Sudeikis), Chuck (Josh Gad), Bomb (Danny McBride), and Mighty Eagle (Peter Dinklage) recruit Chuck’s sister Silver (Rachel Bloom) and team up with pigs Leonard (Bill Hader), his assistant Courtney (Awkwafina), and ‘techpig’Garry (Sterling K. Brown) to forge an unsteady truce and form an unlikely superteam to save their homes.

Angry Birds 2: South African release date

Angry Birds 2 is set to be release in South Africa on 6 September 2019.

Angry Birds 2: Official Trailer

According to Forbes, despite mixed-negative reviews and a relative cultural indifference, Sony’s first Angry Birds movie was a pretty big hit.

The film, based on the obscenely popular smartphone video game, became only the second video game adaptation ever to cross $100 million domestic, and it’s still only the third alongside Tomb Raider in 2001 and 2018’s Rampage.

“The Rovio Animation flick earned $352 million worldwide on a $73m budget, a figure that makes it the third-biggest video game movie of all time behind Warcraft ($433m in 2016), and Rampage ($428m in 2017).”

So the question is, can the franchise become the biggest video game movie of all time this year?
