2020 Emmy nominations: Issa Rae, Zendaya up for this year’s awards

American comedian Leslie Jones announced the 72nd Primetime Emmy Awards nominees on Tuesday night.

And television streaming service Netflix leads the competition with a stellar 160 nominations. HBO follows HBO with 107 nominations.

Zendaya is one of the stand-out actors who are now in line for the prestigious awards. She won her first Primetime Emmy nomination for her lead role in the HBO series Euphoria.

Comedy actresses Robin Thede and Issa Rae cracked three Emmy nominations for their HBO sketch show A Black Lady Sketch Show.

2020 also marks the third year that South Africa’s own Trevor Noah is nominated for his talk series The Daily Show with Trevor Noah.
